Show Me Your Friend

So i was in church today and i must confess that i was glad i did. Great sermon, almost sounded like the pastor had me in  mind and i was very blessed.  After service i moved into the yard like always, to meet and chat with some few friends and treat myself to some chicken shawarma(can't do without it on Sundays). I was  having a hefty chat with one of my friends when suddenly i felt a tap and i pull at the hem of my dress,
i looked down from my five inch heels and there i saw this cute little girl. She looked up at me and smiled so i smiled back, she gestured for me to inch closer so i bent down to hear her since it was obvious she had something to tell me. In a soft tone which was almost like a whisper she said " Uncle Michael is calling you" and pointed to uncle Michael's direction. Now who the hell is Uncle Michael?

I followed her gaze and there he was, Uncle Michael!!! Now let me describe "Uncle Michael" to you, He is a man who lives in my neighbourhood and whose name i know as Amugi and should be in his late thirties or early forties , tall, chocolate in complexion and very good  looking.( he could almost pass for a basket ball player who just touched down from the states) He was unmarried when he first settled in my neighbourhood but later married his beautiful nurse girlfriend and they had a baby together, only she delivered her baby in the US whiles she was there to practice her profession.

I honestly don't know what the arrangement was, as to whether he was to join her soon or she will be back soon or he can't get  a  visa or if he has totally abandoned the idea  of travelling entirely but one thing i am sure about is ever since his wife left, his home has been  a recreational centre for women of all sorts, shapes, colours and sizes and he seems to have a lot of them too because they never seem to stop coming. The probability that we will meet him with the same lady you had probably seen him with some few weeks ago is very low and for this reason i never liked him.  Even though we attended the same church i have never gone to church or returned from church in his car! If he going left, i say i am going through right to first pick up a friend. I never want to be associated to him in any way  what so ever, not even a harmless ride in his car to church!! Whenever i see him after church, i avoid him in every way i can, i even hide and refuse to turn when  my friends who stand close to his location call out my name. The last time i was at the salon braiding my hair and he happened to pass by, the girls there didn't speak well  of him at all!!!!! and if he had seen and waved at me then, i would have ignored him and pretended as though i didn't know him! In short, Uncle Mike is a very bad thief, a disgusting one at that! For this reason as neighbours, all we have exchanged are pleasantries, specifically, Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, I am fine thank you and Everybody is fine. That is all!!!!!!!

Back to church,  uncle Micheal waved from afar and beckoned for me to come, with much displeasure i walked toward him, grumbling all the way. He was in the company of about four of his friend and i gave him my fake wide smile as i said "hi". He extended his hand for me to shake, i flinched as he took my hand into his( only God know where those hands have been the night before) as his friends looked on sheepishly. Now what? i asked myself, since i was already choking in his company. What the hell do you want from me? He later told me that he wanted me to meet one of his friend's who has  shown interest in  me, immediately my fake smile froze and then it dropped like this :=(   now please tell me i didn't hear that !) What!!!!!! First of all, did i tell you i needed someone?? and even if i did what makes you think i will come searching in  your society?

I was not amused but remained calm and shook his friends hand without even looking up to see what it looks like, instead my attention remained on my phone which i was busily tapping as if i was sending a very important text message. Uncle Mike advised his friend to take my cell phone number and i easily gave it out because i figured he will call it in my presence and his friend will harass me later if i gave them a wrong number, plus he knows where to find me. The thought about getting away from them also counted, the faster i gave them the number, the better. I also have a very good record of screening the calls i get on my cell phone so that was not really a problem. Since i didn't catch his name( don't know if it was even mention in the first place) i save his number as "Don't Pick" just in case he calls me before i had had the chance to do with his number what i pleased...

I really can't remember how my dreadful encouter ended but somehow i was free from my oppressor. I asked myself if this guy will have had a different fate with me if this same person was introduced to me by another fellow( a thief too maybe, but a good one) then the story would have been different. I don't know how close this friend is to uncle Micheal or how long they have known each other or if they only met today but one thing i know for sure is Mr  Don't pick might have at the right place at the right time but with the very wrong guy!!
